Sea Eagles Secure Promising Young Playmaker

The Manly Sea Eagles have made a significant move by securing local talent Joey Walsh for an additional two years, ensuring he will remain with the club until at least the end of 2029.

At just 20 years old, Walsh is a promising playmaker who has garnered attention as a potential long-term replacement for Daly Cherry-Evans in the number seven jersey.

Walsh made his first appearance in the last match of the previous season, where he impressively led the Sea Eagles to a commendable 32-10 victory over the reigning champions as the starting halfback.

As a former junior Australian rugby fly-half, there had been concerns he might be lured to the 15-man code, but this contract guarantees his continued presence in the NRL.

Expressing his excitement about the new deal, Walsh stated, "Playing for Manly is what I dreamed of as a kid and I have absolutely loved the past couple of years."

He added, "I have learned so much in a short space of time, and I look forward to continuing to grow as a player in the years ahead."

"I'm thankful for the opportunity that I have been given here at Manly, and I'm really excited about the future as a club," he concluded.

Walsh is set to make his third appearance of the season when he comes off the bench against the Melbourne Storm this Saturday.
