The Manly Sea Eagles have reportedly proposed a significant contract extension to a vital member of their backline amidst his connections to rugby union and the emerging competition known as R360.
Tolutau Koula, who has shown versatility by playing in various positions across the backline, is still early in his career. However, he has consistently been one of the club's standout performers throughout his 82 NRL appearances.
At just 23 years old, Koula's future has been uncertain due to his links with rugby union. Recent reports highlighted that he is one of the players targeted by R360. However, according to News Corp, the Sea Eagles have now offered him a three-year contract extension, aiming to retain him at the club.
This proposed extension would keep him in the Northern Beaches region until the conclusion of the 2030 NRL season. Currently, he is under contract for next season and has an option to extend for the following year.
As he is free to engage in talks with other teams in the NRL, he is likely to garner interest from the league's newest team, the Perth Bears. Nevertheless, the most significant challenge to his continuity with the Sea Eagles comes from the rugby union code.
