The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles faced a tough 18-14 defeat against the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the Harold Matthews Cup week one finals, ending their 2025 campaign.

Despite a strong start with a try from Oscar Crotty after just two minutes, the Rabbitohs managed to score a hat-trick of tries in the first half, putting them in the lead.

While Manly held off South Sydney's attacks in the second half, their own errors ultimately cost them the game.

This loss marked the end of Manly's first appearance in the competition's finals since their undefeated 2021 campaign.

The Sea Eagles will now have to regroup and focus on the next season after the disappointing defeat.
