Savage vows to raiders for years ahead

Rugby League rising star Xavier Savage, from the Canberra Raiders, has expressed his desire to continue wearing the green jersey well past the year 2025.

The young gun, known for his lightning speed and agility, is set to enter the open market on November 1, but hopes to secure his future with the Green Machine.

Savage, who made a seamless transition from fullback to the wing under the guidance of coach Ricky Stuart, had a stellar season in 2025, crossing the try line 15 times in 24 appearances for the Raiders.

This marked a drastic improvement for the 22-year-old, who had struggled to cement his spot in the team in previous years, with limited game time and opportunities.

Despite his remarkable performance on the field, Savage remains humble and committed to his team, expressing his desire to stay in Canberra for the long haul.

However, the speedy winger is yet to receive any concrete offers or discussions from his coach or the club.

As the November 1 deadline approaches, Savage remains focused on his game and is hopeful for a positive outcome in negotiations, as he looks to continue making waves in the NRL and solidify his place in the Raiders lineup.
