Vastly experienced Sandercock takes NRLW reins at Wests Tigers

Craig Sandercock has been appointed as the new Head Coach for the Wests Tigers NRLW program, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his two-decade-long coaching career in rugby league across Australia and England.

What should you know about the individual leading the future of the Wests Tigers NRLW program?

Originally a teacher, Sandercock served as a HSIE teacher and later became the Deputy Head at Pittwater House School. His journey in coaching began as he balanced his teaching role with coaching commitments.

Eventually, he transitioned into professional rugby league, starting with the Manly Sea Eagles' NSW Cup side. Over three seasons in the Reserve Grade program, Sandercock played a key role in nurturing young talent, contributing to a successful era on the Northern Beaches under coach Des Hasler, which celebrated a Premiership in 2008.

In 2010, he joined the Newcastle Knights as an Assistant Coach under Rick Stone for two seasons, where he closely collaborated with notable players such as Akuila Uate, Steve Simpson, Kurt Gidley, and Cameron Ciraldo.
