In a recent NRL Judiciary Update, it has been reported that Sam Walker, the talented halfback for the Sydney Roosters, has entered an early guilty plea in relation to his Grade One Careless High Tackle Charge.
This action was taken after he was cited by the Match Review Committee during Finals Week One.
As a consequence of his guilty plea, Walker will be fined $1000 but will remain available for selection in the Roosters' upcoming clash with the Storm in Finals Week Two.
The incident that led to Walker's citation occurred during the 18th minute of the Roosters' Elimination Final against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks.
The Match Review Committee deemed this to be a Grade One Careless High Tackle, prompting the charge against Walker.
By choosing to enter an early guilty plea, Walker avoided a potentially higher fine of $1500 if found guilty at the panel.
Despite the charge and fine, Walker's availability for the next game is a positive outcome for the Roosters as they continue their finals campaign.
