Ryles plays it safe, dodging Lomax's Origin hopes

Parramatta Eels coach Jason Ryles has dashed Zac Lomax's hopes of participating in the State of Origin Game One due to his recovery from injury.

Ryles made it clear that he will not rush Lomax back, despite the intense competition for the Blues' winger position from players like Jacob Kiraz, Bradman Best, and Brian To'o.

"That's not even in my thought process," Ryles stated.

He emphasized that his main focus is the Eels' weekly performances, adding that he has personal experience in the matter: "If you get your footy right here, then Origin looks after itself." This perspective could be disheartening for both Blues coach Laurie Daley and New South Wales fans, as it limits Lomax's chances of making it to the Origin team.
