Rugby League's heart stopped beating tonight: Heroes obliterate 'embarrassing' high contact debacle

The Rugby League universe is in a state of shock following a farcical Bunker decision that has been ruthlessly torn apart throughout the sport.

According to a report from news.com.au, The NRL's Bunker has once again come under scrutiny after an outrageous call in the Dolphins' 30-24 victory over the Manly Sea Eagles.

With only 18 minutes to go and the game tied at 22-all, Manly's fullback Tom Trbojevic successfully defused a bomb but fumbled the ball during his quick play the ball.

In a desperate attempt, Manly used a captain's challenge in the hopes of overturning the decision, with Bunker official Gerard Sutton pinpointing the slightest of contact to Trbojevic's face from the Dolphins' Jesse Bromwich.

Even the Fox League commentators were perplexed, only picking up on the potential high contact after Cooper Cronk mentioned it.

"Crikey, is this what it's come to," Warren Smith remarked on the ruling.

"It might have just brushed a couple of eyelashes, if that."

The controversial call has left Rugby League fans and players alike scratching their heads, with many questioning the integrity of the game in light of this incident.
