The Sydney Roosters have finalized a mid-season signing, securing winger Junior Tupou from The Dolphins to fill the gap left by Dominic Young's transfer to the Newcastle Knights.
According to reports from zerotackle.com, the Roosters managed to find a replacement for Young in less than two weeks.
This signing comes after Tupou was granted permission to explore other opportunities back in May, despite having a contract that runs until the end of the 2027 NRL season.
When Tupou joined The Dolphins, he was expected to be a key player in their back-line, but his performance has been limited.
He has made only two first-grade appearances this season, having been sidelined for selection in favor of teammates Max Feagai, Jack Bostock, and Jake Averillo.
At just 22 years old, Tupou still possesses significant potential; however, he has spent much of this year focused on the Queensland Cup after facing injuries during his last season with the Wests Tigers in 2024.
The swift move highlights the Roosters' readiness to bolster their squad mid-season, indicating their ongoing commitment to maintaining a strong competitive edge in the league.
