NRL 2024: Jared Waerea-Hargreaves finds himself in deep water once again as the match review committee cracks down hard on the seasoned Roosters player.

The Sydney outfit will have to soldier on without one of their key players at the beginning of the finals, thanks to the heavy-handed charges handed down.

According to reports from news.com.au, the Roosters enforcer Jared Waerea-Hargreaves is facing a significant period on the sidelines, with a three-game ban looming large over his head.

The fiery prop had only just returned from a four-game suspension for a controversial tackle on the Dragons player in round 18, making this latest setback even more frustrating for the veteran.

This time, Waerea-Hargreaves was slapped with a grade 2 careless high tackle charge for his collision with former teammate Sam Verrills.

The incident went unnoticed by the on-field officials initially, but thanks to modern technology, the Bunker intervened and pointed out the infringement.

The Roosters talisman was subsequently sent off to the sin bin in the early stages of the match.

Should he choose to plead guilty early, Waerea-Hargreaves will miss three crucial games, including a potential finals clash.

However, if he decides to take the matter to the judiciary and is unsuccessful in overturning the charge, he faces a lengthier four-match absence.

In the meantime, his fellow Roosters Victor Radley and Daniel Tupou have also been fined for their own high tackle offences, with Radley potentially staring down a two-match suspension if he decides to challenge the penalty.

Despite these setbacks, the Roosters will need to regroup and rally together as they aim to overcome this obstacle and push forward in the finals race to chase glory.

Stay tuned for more updates as the drama unfolds in the world of Rugby League.
