The Sydney Roosters have promoted Tom Rodwell to their Top 30 roster ahead of the June 30 deadline, according to reports from zerotackle.com.
Under NRL regulations, teams are required to have a full squad of 30 players before this deadline, although they are not obligated to replace players who leave the team after the season begins.
Following the departures of Brandon Smith and Dominic Young since Round 1, the Roosters only needed 28 players in their Top 30 to meet compliance.
With Rodwell's promotion, the team now has 27 players contracted.
This is an improvement from the previous count of 26, which included the recent signing of Junior Tupou that was announced earlier on Monday.
Tyreece Tait is expected to transfer to the Dolphins but does not impact the Top 30 roster count since he was not part of it.
The updated playing group of 27, including Tupou, is organized alphabetically.
