The Sydney Roosters are making significant moves this offseason as they strategize for another NRL premiership. They have secured key players and have recently extended the contract of promising outside back Robert Toia until the end of 2029.

At just 21 years old, Toia had an impressive breakout season in 2025, earning him Rookie of the Year honors. He also made notable appearances, representing both the Queensland Maroons in State of Origin and Tonga in the Pacific Championships, demonstrating his rapid ascent through the Roosters' development system.

Joel Carbone, the club's Head of Recruitment, emphasized the significance of Toia's re-signing for the Tricolours.

"What sets Robert apart isn't just his talent, it's his character," Carbone stated in a club announcement.

"He's worked through some tough early challenges with real resilience and determination. With the work ethic he brings, there's no capping the ceiling for where he can take his game."
