Sydney Roosters maestro, Sam Walker, is contemplating dipping his toes in the fiery waters of the NRL market, with whispers suggesting he could practically set his price at the local pub.
The crafty 22-year-old, locked in with the Roosters until the distant future of 2025, may become a sought-after free agent come November 1 unless he scribbles his signature on a new deal with his current club.
Reports from down under indicate that the Roosters dangled a juicy two-year extension worth a staggering $1.8 million on the table last month, with the Broncos sniffing around the talented halfback with keen interest.
But according to Fox League's Paul Crawley, the word on the street is that Walker is gearing up to test the market and see the bidding war unfold.
"He's wagering on his own skillset, and fair dinkum, he's got every right to do so," Crawley explained on Fox League's NRL 360.
It seems like Walker is ready to take the field, price tag swinging like a scrum half's pass, and let the league world decide his next move.
Let the games begin!
