The Sydney Roosters have celebrated the induction of three individuals from Era 1 (1908-1946) into their esteemed Hall of Fame at the International Convention Centre, as reported by roosters.com.au.
These three join the ranks of legendary players such as Dally Messenger, Dave Brown, Jack Gibson, Arthur Beetson, and Brad Fittler, who were named in the Sydney Roosters Hall of Fame in 2010.
Additionally, Ray Stehr, Dick Dunn, Ron Coote, and Kevin Hastings were inducted in 2012.
One of the newly inducted individuals is Arthur 'Pony' Halloway, who played as a halfback for the Sydney Roosters, wearing the number 61 jersey.
Halloway showcased his skills in 36 games for Easts, making significant contributions to the club's triumphs in 1912 and 1913 before transitioning to a coaching role.
After a seven-year absence from the top-tier competition, Halloway returned to Easts in 1930, assuming the role of head coach.
With a coaching career spanning four stints at the club, Halloway led the Tricolours to victory in the 1935, 1936, 1937, and 1945 premiership seasons.
His exceptional contributions were recognized when he was inducted into the Australian Rugby League Hall of Fame in 2008 and included in Australian Rugby League's 100 Greatest Players list in the same year.
