In a disappointing match for the Parramatta Eels, they were defeated by the Sydney Roosters with a final score of 34-12 at CommBank Stadium last Friday.

Despite the loss, Bryce Cartwright showcased his determination by reaching out and successfully grounding the ball from a considerable distance, earning the Eels their first points of the game.

Clint Gutherson, taking on the goal-kicking duties in the absence of Mitchell Moses, expertly converted the try, giving the Eels a brief 6-0 lead.

Although the Eels came close to a remarkable long-range try, Will Penisini's efforts were thwarted at the try line by the Roosters' resilient last-ditch defense.

The first 20 minutes of the game appeared promising for Parramatta, but their vulnerability in edge defense ultimately led to their downfall.

James Tedesco capitalised on the Eels' defensive weaknesses and scored two tries, while Joseph Suaalii added another, allowing the Roosters to secure an 18-6 lead at halftime.
