This weekend, the Sydney Roosters showcased their strength with impressive victories across their senior teams.
On Saturday, the 3rd placed Roosters conquered the 9th placed Manly-Warringah with a decisive 44-18 win at Wentworth Park, overcoming a close halftime score of 14-12.
Tommy Talau returned from injury, joined by Junior Pauga and Blake Steep from NRL duty, while captain duties were taken over by 20-year-old Toby Rodwell after skipper Max McCathie was sidelined.
Despite conceding an early try to Manly's rising star Joey Walsh, the Roosters quickly turned the tide, scoring three consecutive tries before conceding a second just before halftime.
The second half was dominated by the Roosters, who scored five tries, led by the outstanding Junior Pauga with two tries and remarkable stats, including 248 metres and 20 tackle busts.
Ben Johnson, Tom Rodwell, and Reece Foley also scored, joining Hayden Barton at the top of the try-scorers list with three each this season.
With this victory, the Roosters have secured their 3rd win in 4 matches, climbing to 2nd place on the ladder before their upcoming bye in Round 5.
