Roosters Confirm Long-Known Wong Extension

It's better late than never when it comes to significant announcements, and this one surely took its time.

The Roosters have made it official, confirming the two-year extension of Siua Wong on Wednesday morning.

However, fans who closely follow the game have been aware of this decision for the past three months.

Within just an hour of the news, the NRL's official signing tracker was updated to reflect the change.

An alum of the Roosters Academy, Wong has made history as the first player to rise through the ranks of the club's academy and secure a spot in the NRL team.

"The Roosters have been a huge part of my life for a long time, so it's really special to be able to extend my time here," Wong stated in the club's announcement.

"I've come through the Academy and been fortunate to learn from so many great coaches, staff and players along the way. This Club has helped shape me both as a footballer and as a person."

"I'm proud to represent the Roosters and excited about what we're building as a group. I can't wait to keep working hard and hopefully contribute to more success for the Club over the coming years," he added.

According to Sydney Roosters Director of Football Mitchell Aubusson, securing Wong's extension was of great importance to the club.
