NSWRL is set to convene to discuss the next leader for the Blues squad, as the Sydney Roosters brace for a potential shake-up on their coaching staff.
Reports from zerotackle.com suggest that Sydney Roosters assistant coach Matt King is emerging as a top contender for the head coach position with the New South Wales Blues.
Following the departure of one-series coach Michael Maguire, who moved on to the Brisbane Broncos, the NSWRL board has been in deliberation to find his successor.
It appears that a decision may be looming, with a crucial board meeting expected to take place this week according to a News Corp report.
King has garnered favoritism for the position after receiving approval from Trent Robinson and the Sydney Roosters to step into the head coaching role if selected.
He currently works alongside Boyd Cordner and the Morris brothers - Brett and Josh - who have also been rumored for the Blues' coaching gig, however, they seem to be lower on the list of potential candidates.
