The Sea Eagles website is buzzing with news of a fantastic opportunity for some fresh blood in the Shield team in the upcoming Jersey Flegg match.

This is a chance for the young guns from the Sydney Shield squad to strut their stuff against South Sydney this Saturday.

Due to a spate of injuries plaguing the NRL squad, a number of new faces have been called up to play for the Blacktown Workers in the NSW Cup game against the Rabbitohs.

These rising stars showed their mettle in last week's impressive win over Mounties, toppling them from their perch at the top of the ladder.

Under the guidance of Coach Anthony Watmough, the team has notched up four wins in their debut season in the Sydney Shield.

Sitting sixth on the Jersey Flegg ladder, the Sea Eagles are riding high after a commanding 36-16 victory over the Dragons at home last Sunday.

The team will be led onto the field this week by the savvy half-back Travis May.

The boys at 4 Pines Park put on a show, crossing the line six times to the Dragons' three, with prop Kylan Mafoa and lock Devante Mihinui bagging two tries each.

These standout players have now earned their stripes and secured promotion to the NSW Cup alongside Oliver Lawry, Broden Konz, Max Hayley, Daniel O'Donnell, and Nicholas Lenaz.

It's a chance for these young guns to prove themselves on the big stage and show what they've got in their arsenal.

The stage is set, the stakes are high, and it's time for these rising stars to shine.

Go get 'em, boys!
