Trent Robinson, the mastermind behind the Sydney Roosters, has finally broken his silence amidst the David Fifita saga, likening it to a classic game of two halves.

Robinson admitted to having a bit of a chuckle when he learned of Fifita's surprising decision to stay with the Gold Coast Titans, rather than don the Roosters' mighty jersey.

Fifita had been on the verge of making a legendary move to the Roosters in 2025, with a lucrative $3.3 million deal on the table.

However, the rug was pulled out from under the Roosters when Fifita pulled a double pump fake and opted to stick with the Titans until 2026.

Robinson, a seasoned coach with a tactical mind sharper than a rugby league ball, simply shrugged off the news.

"I woke up, saw the text, and thought, 'Well, that's just footy for you'," he remarked with a touch of dry Australian humor.

"It's all part of the circus that is the great game.

We just have to keep moving forward and focus on the next match."

In true Roosters fashion, Robinson quickly regrouped and got back to the business of preparing his team for their next challenge.

The drama of the Fifita situation may have caused a ripple in the rugby league pond, but the Roosters are ready to tackle whatever comes their way with grit and determination.
