Ricky Stuart set to be inducted into NSW Hall of Champions
Ricky Stuart AM, the esteemed coach of the Canberra Raiders and a True Blue, has been announced as the newest inductee into the NSW Hall of Champions, celebrating his legendary status in NSW Rugby League.
The former halfback for both Australia and NSW, who has also served as coach for his state and country, will be honored alongside four other sporting icons during the 2025 class. The official induction will take place at the NSW Champions of Sport ceremony on Monday, November 24, at The Star Event Centre in Pyrmont.
Stuart's impressive playing career includes three first-grade premierships with the Canberra Raiders, along with accolades like the Clive Churchill Medal in 1990 and the Dally M Player of the Year in 1993. He proudly represented NSW on 14 occasions, contributing to four series victories. In his inaugural year as NSW coach in 2005, he led the team to a triumphant 2-1 series win.
In addition to his state achievements, he made nine Test appearances for Australia, playing a crucial role in two Ashes series wins in 1990 and 1994, as well as a World Cup victory spanning from 1989 to 1992.
Ricky Stuart is also honored as a member of the National Rugby League Hall of Fame since 2018 and was inducted into the NSWRL The Star Hall of Fame in 2022.
