'Canberra's in need of a home run': Fired-up Ricky's heartfelt plea to sort 'sh**' situation
In a fiery post-match interview, Raiders coach Ricky Stuart has made a passionate appeal to the NRL to address the dire state of GIO Stadium, calling for major upgrades or even a brand new ground for the good people of Canberra.
Despite his team's impressive 32-12 victory over the Tigers, Stuart couldn't hold back his frustration at the "absolutely crap" conditions of the iconic venue in the nation's capital.
Describing the situation as a real "dead-set shocker," Stuart demanded action to improve the facilities.
Adding fuel to the fire, Stuart pointed to a recent event at Commonwealth Park where attendees were left high and dry when buses stopped running before the concert had even finished.
"I feel for those poor buggers who had to put up with that stink," Stuart lamented.
"It's a bloody disgrace.
We're the bloody capital of Australia!"
With his trademark intensity and competitive spirit, Stuart's no-nonsense approach is a reflection of the Raiders' never-say-die ethos.
As the coach rallies for change, the people of Canberra wait with bated breath, hoping for a stadium upgrade that will do justice to their beloved team.
