Latrell Mitchell, the star fullback for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, is set to make a triumphant return before the end of the season, bringing some much-needed good news to the team.
After suffering a foot injury in a game against the Parramatta Eels just before State of Origin 3, there were concerns that Mitchell would be sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.
However, it seems that those fears have now been put to rest as News Corp reports that scans and a consultation with a specialist have given the green light for Mitchell to lace up his boots and hit the field again in as little as three weeks.
The resilient 27-year-old, who has already missed several games earlier in the season, has only managed to make 11 appearances so far.
But with his highly-anticipated return slated for the Round 24 clash against the Wests Tigers, Mitchell could potentially play up to 15 games for South Sydney this year - that is, if the battling club doesn't manage to secure a spot in the finals series.
For Mitchell, this comeback represents a chance to prove his worth and show what he's made of on the field.
The Rabbitohs will surely be looking forward to having their star player back in action, ready to tackle any challenges that come their way.
