Reece Walsh showcased an impressive performance for the Broncos in their 26-14 victory over the Titans, contributing with a try and an assist while breaking three tackles and running for 176 metres.
However, NRL legend Cooper Cronk expressed concern over a key defensive moment that could be problematic against stronger teams.
Despite Walsh's dazzling play, including a backflip after scoring (which raised concerns due to his ongoing knee issue), Cronk highlighted issues with Walsh's positioning in defense, particularly a moment in the second half.
Walsh, while defending at marker on the blind-side near the try-line, was caught out of position when the Titans executed a grubber that led to a simple try for Jojo Fifita.
Walsh was not even visible in the camera shot during the play.
Cronk remarked, "That was way too easy for the Titans...
a little grubber in behind the line and that's exactly where your fullback Reece Walsh should be."
Though Walsh was instrumental in the Broncos' offense, Cronk emphasized that his defensive capabilities remain a significant concern, generating discussions about Walsh's overall effectiveness on the field.
