Cody Ramsey's remarkable journey in Rugby League continues as he has joined the Westpac NSW Blues for training in the Blue Mountains.
According to nrl.com.au, Ramsey, the captain of the Dragons in The Knock-On Effect NSW Cup, was one of four players called up, along with NRL Dragons forward Hamish Stewart, Wests Tigers centre Adam Doueihi, and suspended Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs back-rower Jacob Preston.
This opportunity marks a significant comeback for Ramsey, who two years ago faced the possibility of having to quit Rugby League due to a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis.
This condition led to a weight loss of 28 kilograms and required surgery to remove his large intestine.
Ramsey stated that the chance to train with the Blues came through Dragons and NSW assistant coach Dean Young.
Initially, he thought he was being called up for the Under 19s team.
