Canberra Raiders centre Matthew Timoko is set to enter free agency on November 1, choosing not to activate options in his contract.
The skilled centre currently holds a starting position alongside Sebastian Kris, but he may attract interest from rival clubs.
Timoko has a contract with the Raiders through 2027 and 2028, but the option beyond next year is mutual.
News Corp reports that neither party has activated the options yet, leaving Timoko with the potential for significant financial upgrades should he decide to leave the Raiders.
If he considers going elsewhere, the Perth Bears could be an appealing option, as they are about to enter their first official negotiation period.
The Raiders, while keen to keep Timoko, face challenges related to the salary cap and the influx of young talent within the team.
Recently signed Sione Finau from the St George Illawarra Dragons is viewed by the coaching staff as a potential winger or centre, although he is likely to be lower in priority at the start of the 2026 season.
