The Canberra Raiders NRLW side couldn't hold off the Cronulla Sharks, falling to a 24-12 defeat at GIO Stadium Canberra on Saturday arvo.
The Raiders came out strong in the first half, but the Sharks managed to score twenty-four unanswered points, leaving the nation's capital empty-handed.
In a nail-biting opening ten minutes, both teams had their chances to score, but solid defence kept the game level.
Raiders co-captain Zehara Temara had to leave the field for a head injury assessment, but she toughed it out and returned to play.
The Raiders managed to get on the scoreboard first, with winger Madison Bartlett crossing over after some slick passing on the left edge, giving the Raiders a 6-0 lead.
However, the Sharks rallied and took control of the game, leaving the Raiders in their wake.
It was a tough loss for the Raiders, but they'll regroup and come back stronger in their next game.
The green machine will bounce back, just you wait and see.
