Rookie recruit Zac Hosking from the Canberra Raiders has charged to the front of the pack in Zero Tackle's NRL MVP race after notching a perfect 20 during the team's dominant Round 2 victory over the Wests Tigers.

In true green machine fashion, Hosking was one of six players to achieve a flawless score this weekend, alongside Ronaldo Mulitalo, Reece Walsh, Izack Tago, Ryan Papenhuyzen, and Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow who were all deemed the standout performers in their respective games.

In other clashes, Tom Dearden and Adam Elliott shared the spotlight in the Cowboys and Knights showdown, while Tom Trbojevic and Luke Brooks split the top honors in the Sea Eagles and Roosters battle.

Hosking now holds a commanding four-vote lead at the summit of the MVP leaderboard after just two rounds, with Mulitalo trailing closely behind, followed by Trbojevic and James Tedesco looming not too far behind.

Just like a nail-biting game, the scoring system involves a panel comprising Zero Tackle's founder Matt Clements, writers Dan Nichols and Ethan Lee Chalk, along with the editor casting votes in a 5-4-3-2-1 format each week.

The competition is heating up, and the race for MVP glory is certainly one to keep a close eye on as the season unfolds.
