Raiders pondering Fogarty's fate with contract decision

Canberra Raiders halfback, Jamal Fogarty, is facing uncertainty about his future with the Green Machine as the club deliberates whether to activate a clause in his contract to extend his stay.

Fogarty, who has an option in his contract to become a free agent for 2026, is attracting interest from several clubs.

This could potentially be his last season with Canberra if the clause is not activated.

Reports surfaced that Raiders' coach Ricky Stuart had refused to negotiate with Fogarty's agent, Tas Bartlett.

However, Stuart clarified that discussions with Fogarty's management are ongoing and that decisions on contract extensions will be made at the appropriate time.

"I'll sit down with them [Fogarty's management] at the right time," Stuart said during a media session.

"We're constantly having discussions with the guys that are off contract, and we'll get to an endpoint at some stage."

With Fogarty's contract decision unresolved, speculation is rife about his future at Canberra.

The 31-year-old's experience and skill as a halfback make him a valuable asset, prompting interest from other clubs.

Fogarty's potential departure from the Raiders would mark the end of his time in a lime green jumper, a prospect that fans and teammates alike are watching closely.

As Fogarty waits for a decision on his contract extension, the uncertainty looms over his future in the NRL.

The coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether he remains with Canberra or seeks opportunities elsewhere in the league.

Amidst the speculation and negotiations, Fogarty's commitment to the team and his contributions on and off the field have been acknowledged by fans and supporters.

The final decision on his contract extension will shape the next phase of his career in the NRL.
