Raiders Face Injury Setback Before Finals

Canberra Raiders prop Josh Papalii is facing uncertainty ahead of the finals due to an ankle injury sustained during training.

The prop has showcased remarkable form this season, prompting the club to offer him a one-year contract extension to conclude his career in Canberra.

His exceptional performance earned him a spot in State of Origin for Game 3 with Billy Slater's Queensland Maroons. However, according to News Corp, Papalii's availability for the upcoming match is uncertain after he sustained a "significant ankle injury" during a training session on Friday in Canberra.

Reports indicate that Papalii is highly doubtful for this Sunday's game against the Broncos, as he had to be assisted off the field, unable to bear weight on the injured ankle.

It is expected that he will be included in the roster for the match against the Broncos, but his participation will hinge on his ability to train on Saturday during the team's captain's run.

Papalii was one of ten Raiders players rested during Sunday's final round against the Dolphins, a game that the Raiders lost dramatically, conceding over 50 points.

The Raiders now face the challenging task of rewriting history to secure the premiership, as historically, no team that has conceded more than 50 points in a match during the regular season has gone on to win the title.
