The South Sydney Rabbitohs have enhanced their roster by signing two of the most promising young talents from the QLD Cup reserve-grade competition.
As part of their ongoing roster revitalization, the Rabbitohs have made several acquisitions over the past two years, with the goal of returning to the NRL Finals series and re-establishing their dominance in the competition.
This year, Latrell Siegwalt, a versatile utility back, has joined the Rabbitohs on a two-year contract after a brief stint with the Brisbane Broncos as part of a train-and-trial arrangement.
Siegwalt will be included in the club's development list for the 2026 season, before being elevated to the Top 30 roster for the subsequent season, following his consistent performance in the QLD Cup.
Originally from Wagga Wagga, the fullback has previously been part of the Canterbury Bulldogs and St George Illawarra Dragons systems but returned to Queensland due to homesickness.
He also has the capability to play in the halves, and while the Broncos hoped to keep him, Siegwalt has chosen to pursue new opportunities and learn from one of rugby league's top fullbacks.
"Latrell is a mature young footballer looking for his chance to play at the NRL level and with hard work and dedication he can earn that opportunity here at South Sydney," said Mark Ellison, the Rabbitohs' Head of Recruitment.
