Jacob Host, a forward for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, has confirmed his move to the English Super League club St Helens for a two-year stint starting in 2026.
With his contract with the Rabbitohs set to end in 2025 and no new deal extended to him by the club, Host made the decision to relocate to England, marking a significant chapter in his professional career.
Since debuting with the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2016, Host has accumulated valuable experience in the NRL, spending five seasons with the Dragons before joining South Sydney, where he has played ever since.
Throughout his career in both clubs, he has appeared in 119 NRL games, and notably participated in the 2021 grand final, where the Rabbitohs faced off against the Penrith Panthers-who subsequently secured their first of four consecutive grand final victories.
Expressing his excitement about joining St Helens, Host stated that he regards the club as the premier team in England and felt compelled to seize this opportunity.
"I'm over the moon! When Saints came knocking, the biggest club in England, it was an opportunity I couldn't turn down," Host shared on the club's website.
He added, "I've learned a lot playing alongside some of the best players in the game. I feel I've developed massively as a player, and getting to the Grand Final was an experience that I want again."
