Rabbitohs Hop to Sign Mitchell and Lovett

"The South Sydney Rabbitohs have decided to back their two rising stars with contract extensions that will keep prop Shaquai Mitchell and second-rower Ben Lovett wearing the cardinal and myrtle until 2025.

Both Mitchell and Lovett were set to hit the open market at the conclusion of the 2024 NRL season, but the Rabbitohs have shown faith in their potential by securing them for another year.

These two lads have been on the edge of breaking into the Rabbitohs' top squad, with Mitchell, the sibling of superstar fullback Latrell, racking up 20 NRL appearances since his debut back in 2022.

On the other hand, Lovett only recently made his NRL debut in Round 4 of this season and has shown promise in his three outings.

Mark Ellison, the Rabbitohs' head of football, expressed his excitement at having Mitchell and Lovett commit to the club for the upcoming seasons.

The Bunnies have shown once again that they are building a strong foundation for success, ensuring these young guns are part of their long-term plans."
