Rabbitohs hop into Taylan May speculation

South Sydney Rabbitohs head coach Wayne Bennett has publicly confirmed the club's interest in Taylan May, who recently toured their facilities.

May, a rising talent in rugby league, has played 30 matches for the Penrith Panthers and represented Samoa at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup.

However, his career faced setbacks due to an alleged off-field incident.

After being suspended by the NRL, confidence in May's return was bolstered when ARLC Chairman Peter V'landys announced earlier this year that "he's free to play" after all domestic violence charges against him were withdrawn.

In April, May's player manager Ahmad Merhi indicated that May chose to pause his rugby league career to address personal issues.

Now, with his return seemingly imminent, it's reported that he might be eligible to play first-grade again before the June 30 deadline.
