Jacob Host, a forward for the South Sydney Rabbitohs, is reportedly considering a move to another club as his contract nears its conclusion.

Having joined the Rabbitohs in 2021 after five seasons with the St George Illawarra Dragons, Host has played 60 matches for the team but has yet to appear this season.

His absence is primarily due to injuries and participation in the NSW Cup.

Currently, he earns $300,000 per year, but re-signing him appears unlikely due to the emergence of young forwards in the club's ranks.

According to All Out Rugby League, Host has been linked with a transfer to the Castleford Tigers in the Super League, who view him as a potential addition for the remainder of the season.

Super League teams have until early August to sign players for the ongoing season, and Host meets the eligibility criteria, having participated in over 50 percent of NRL matches in the past two seasons (2023 and 2024).
