Rabbitohs Enhance Forward Depth with New Signing

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have enhanced their forward depth by acquiring a former NRL front-rower, who previously played for the Canterbury Bulldogs and Cronulla Sharks.

After signing Jordi Mazzone and the Afualo brothers, Maxwell and William, the Rabbitohs have further strengthened their lower-grade squads with this new addition.

Diving into details on the Rabbitohs Radio Podcast, Brent Hill, the Rabbitohs' Recruitment Manager, confirmed that they have signed Franklin Pele, a former front-rower for both the Canterbury Bulldogs and Cronulla Sharks.

Pele began the current season with the Bradford Bulls, who are part of the RFL Championship, the second tier of the English Super League. Recently, he has been playing rugby union in France with Racing Club de Narbonne, competing in the country's third division of the 15-man code.

Regarded as a potential impact player off the bench, he unfortunately did not meet expectations during his previous stints, primarily spending his time in the NSW Cup with the feeder teams of both clubs. Nonetheless, he has made seven first-grade appearances in the NRL between 2021 and 2023 and will aim to make a significant impact upon joining the Rabbitohs.
