The South Sydney Rabbitohs have reportedly upped their offer for prop Keaon Koloamatangi. Previously, a three-year deal was on the table, but according to News Corp, that has now been extended to four years.
The competition for Koloamatangi has intensified since the November 1 deadline, especially following a standout 2025 season where he transitioned from the edges to the middle and went on to represent Australia in the Ashes series against England.
The Rabbitohs are keen to secure the 27-year-old for the long term, though this is no easy task. They face stiff competition from the Parramatta Eels and St George Illawarra Dragons, who have both submitted lucrative seven-figure offers for him.
Both teams are eager to strengthen their packs, with the Eels identifying a need for an additional prop, while the Dragons seek an experienced leader to guide a young forward roster heading into 2027 and beyond.
Reports indicate that the Eels have also extended a four-year offer to Koloamatangi, which South Sydney has now matched. The Dragons, on the other hand, have proposed a longer, five-year contract.
While neither the Eels nor the Dragons would necessitate a move outside Sydney, Koloamatangi may find it appealing to continue playing under Wayne Bennett, who has recently elevated his performance from good to great.
