The South Sydney Rabbitohs have signed former Melbourne Storm and St George Illawarra Dragons fullback Ammaron Gudgeon as he pursues his rugby league career and aims for his NRL first-grade debut in the coming years.

According to zerotackle.com, Gudgeon was one of nine players released by the Storm at the end of the 2024 NRL season before joining the Dragons.

However, he has since left the club to join the Rabbitohs, where he secured a NSW Cup contract.

In an interview with Zero Tackle, Gudgeon discussed his journey in rugby league, including the challenges he faced recovering from back-to-back shoulder surgeries that affected his time at the Storm.

He expressed his ambitions for the future, driven by his passion for the sport.

Born to parents from New Zealand and Western Australia, Gudgeon's childhood involved frequent relocations between the two countries, yet he always maintained his love for playing and watching rugby league, particularly supporting the New Zealand Warriors.
