The North Queensland Cowboys are gearing up for a groundbreaking event with the announcement of the Cowboys Open Womens Trial.

This initiative offers female athletes the chance to strut their stuff and potentially make a name for themselves in the world of rugby league.

Players who are eligible for open age rugby league are encouraged to apply for the trial, set to take place on the weekend of 16th-17th November.

This is a golden opportunity for these athletes to showcase their skills and potentially earn a coveted spot in the Cowboys Open Women's Elite Development Squad.

Not to mention, there is also the opportunity to be selected for the state-level BMD Premiership squads for the Northern Pride and Mackay Cutters, and their extended academies.

Those lucky enough to receive an invitation to trial will be put through their paces with rigorous strength and athletic performance testing.

They will then have the chance to prove their mettle on the field during skills tests and live scrimmages.

It's sure to be a testing but exciting experience for all involved.

Anita Creenaune, the Cowboys Head of NRLW & Women's Elite Pathways, is thrilled at the prospect of further developing the pathway for female players in the region.

This trial is an important step in helping these athletes reach their full potential and hopefully make a mark in the world of rugby league.

So, if you think you have what it takes to make it in the world of rugby league, be sure to apply for the Cowboys Open Womens Trial.

It's sure to be a ripper of an event that could change the course of your sporting career.
