The Perth Bears have made headlines by securing a landmark jersey sponsorship deal ahead of their debut in the NRL in 2027.
In a recent announcement, the club revealed that 'Cash Converters', a second-hand retailer and personal finance provider, will be the front-of-jersey sponsor for their inaugural season, along with the subsequent two seasons through to 2029.
"The Perth Bears are the most exciting story in Australian sport thanks to the rise and rise of the NRL under the leadership of Australian Rugby League Commission chair Peter V'Landys and NRL CEO Andrew Abdo," stated Perth Bears CEO Anthony De Ceglie.
He added, "Cash Converters has always been incredibly supportive of NRL in WA with their consistent backing of grassroots rugby league."
De Ceglie emphasized that "This deal is a testament to that dedication and the strength of rugby league."
Moreover, he remarked, "The Perth Bears have already broken NRL records commercially and this mega deal ensures the new club is in the very top echelon of teams across the nation - it's a proud day for the West Australian sporting landscape and for WA-founded businesses like Cash Converters."
Reports suggest that the sponsorship deal is valued at over $6 million, equating to roughly $2 million per season. This places it among the richest in the NRL, trailing only behind the Sydney Roosters' $10 million deal with BYD and The Dolphins' $3 million agreement with Budget Direct.
