The NRL world found itself divided once again over a contentious penalty try in the Roosters' convincing 44-16 victory over the Raiders in Canberra on Saturday afternoon.

The nation's capital was left seething over the call, with the rest of the league left scratching their heads.

The red-hot Roosters, coming off a high-scoring loss in Magic Round, showcased their attacking prowess once more by running in eight tries to the Raiders' three in another dominant display.

This marks the fifth consecutive game in which the Roosters have scored over 30 points, solidifying their status as the top attacking team in the NRL this season.

In a match filled with twists and turns, a controversial moment early on ignited the fury of the crowd at GIO Stadium.

Just over 10 minutes into the first half, Sam Walker launched a kick through with Luke Keary pouncing on the grubber to seemingly notch the Roosters' second try of the game.

However, the decision ultimately led to heated debates and left fans questioning the officials' call.

Despite the uproar, the Roosters' relentless attack proved too much for the Raiders to handle, further establishing their dominance in the competition.

This clash will certainly be remembered as one that sparked a wave of controversy and left an entire city up in arms.
