Parramatta chairman Matthew Beach says the club is pleased with coach Jason Ryles and wants to extend his contract, despite a conditional final season.
"We haven't extended Jason, but we're very happy with Jason," Beach told News Corp.
News Corp reported that only the first three years of Ryles' four-year deal are guaranteed.
He signed the agreement in July 2024, covering the 2025 to 2028 seasons, but the Eels' appointment announcement described it as fully guaranteed.
The final year depends on performance targets that have not been made public.
It is understood those targets are linked to playing finals in Ryles' first two seasons.
Ryles took charge in 2025 after Brad Arthur was sacked and the club missed out on Wayne Bennett, who instead returned to coach South Sydney.
He also joined the panel selecting the Eels' next chief executive, Mike Rush, appointed on Friday after 27 years at St Helens, including as chief executive.
Ryles rates Rush highly and recommended him when the Dragons were searching for a CEO.
Rush's focus on pathways aligns with changes Ryles has sought to introduce at Parramatta.
