The Panthers are looking to the future by securing Zakauri Clarke for an additional two years, ensuring he remains in the foothills of the mountains.
This 21-year-old is the elder brother of Cooper Clarke, who made a significant impact as an enforcer for the Melbourne Storm this season, stepping in effectively for Nelson Asofa-Solomona.
Zakauri is on his own journey to establish his identity in the sport, showcasing his talent in the NSW Cup by scoring two tries and successfully converting 12 goals over six matches this year.
He will remain part of the club's top 30 roster, with Panthers' general manager of football, Shane Elford, expressing his satisfaction with the agreement.
"Zakauri is a hardworking forward who has continued to develop his game and perform consistently this season," Elford remarked.
"We're pleased to see his progress and look forward to his continued development over the coming years."
The second-row player is eager for an NRL debut, demonstrating impressive metrics with an average of 97 run metres and 90% tackle efficiency in the NSW Cup this season.
Having participated in the Panthers' pre-season challenge, he has caught the attention of coach Ivan Cleary, positioning him well for an upcoming appearance in the top grade.
