Panthers to face Wigan in World Club Challenge

The Penrith Panthers have officially announced their participation in the World Club Challenge against the Wigan Warriors, as reported on their official website.

The highly anticipated match is set to take place at the DW Stadium in Wigan on Saturday, February 24 at 8:00pm local time (Sunday, February 25 at 7:00am AEDT).

The Wigan Warriors secured their spot in the challenge after defeating the Catalans Dragons 10-2 in the Super League Grand Final.

Meanwhile, the Penrith Panthers earned their place in the challenge after emerging victorious over the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL Grand Final.

This upcoming match will mark the second World Club Challenge encounter between the two teams, with Wigan previously defeating the Panthers 21-4 at Anfield in 1991.

The Panthers will be aiming to secure their first World Club Challenge title in their fourth appearance, while this will be Wigan's ninth attempt at claiming the championship title.
