Tevita Pangai Junior, a former NSW Origin forward, is reportedly eyeing a return to the NRL after his time in the Super League with Hull KR.
At 30, he plans to leave the English club at the conclusion of the current season, seeking to secure a contract back in Australia.
According to reports from The Courier-Mail, Pangai Junior is expected to return next month as he aims for another opportunity in the NRL.
This season, he has faced significant challenges, managing only five appearances with Hull KR due to suspensions resulting from lengthy disciplinary bans.
Despite these setbacks, he has reportedly shed 15 kilograms and remains determined to continue his rugby league career in Australia instead of staying in the Super League.
Having played 147 NRL games across teams such as Brisbane, Penrith, Canterbury, and the Dolphins, Pangai Junior also represented NSW in the 2023 State of Origin.
His last involvement in the NRL was with the Dolphins in 2024, following a brief stint pursuing professional boxing and subsequent career moves overseas.
It is unclear if any NRL clubs will take a chance on him, but with his age and experience, Pangai Junior is striving to ensure his professional rugby league journey continues.
