The Canterbury Bulldogs received acclaim for their defensive strategies in 2025, yet it was widely recognized that their offensive capabilities required improvement.
Recognizing this need, the Bulldogs have taken a significant step to enhance their attack.
Former Newcastle Knights head coach Adam O'Brien is set to join the Bulldogs' coaching staff as the head of attack, as reported by the Daily Telegraph. He will collaborate with Cameron Ciraldo in preparation for the 2026 season.
O'Brien, who had also spoken with the Manly Sea Eagles, chose to align with the Bulldogs, who aim to capitalize on a successful 2025 season during which they finished in the top four but were eliminated in the finals by the Melbourne Storm and Penrith Panthers.
After parting ways with the Knights at the season's end, O'Brien was on the lookout for a new opportunity following a challenging stint that ended with the Knights earning the wooden spoon.
With a substantial coaching background, O'Brien has experience as an assistant at the Storm and Sydney Roosters before taking over at the Knights in 2020.
As a result of this move, current attacking coach Jason Taylor may transition to a different position within the club, though this has yet to be officially confirmed.
