The NRL has advised Parramatta's captain, Mitch Moses, to moderate his intensity when communicating with referees after a heated golden-point defeat to Wests Tigers on Easter Monday.
Following the match, Moses indicated that the Eels could not hold the match officials responsible for their 22-20 loss, yet he still received a concerning act notice from the league on Tuesday morning.
This notice serves as a formal warning, urging him to maintain respectful communication with officials and does not carry any fines or suspensions.
During the match, Moses made light and non-aggressive contact with referee Peter Gough multiple times while discussing officiating calls.
At various moments, it was evident that Moses struggled to conceal his frustrations toward the refereeing, particularly in the first half of the game.
In a separate incident, Eels centre Sean Russell suffered a concussion from a head clash with Heamasi Makasini, but was also penalised and placed on report for breaking the defensive line.
The Tigers capitalized on the unusual combination of an HIA and a penalty, as Adam Doueihi scored a try from a flick pass by Kai Pearce-Paul.
In a controversial play, Pearce-Paul apparently stripped the ball from Brian Kelly during a three-man tackle, leading to the Tigers' subsequent try.
With the Eels trailing 12-10, they seemed poised to regain the lead as makeshift centre Jack Williams surged down the right flank.
