In a true clash of the titans, the NRL has locked in both semi-finals for next weekend at Allianz Stadium.

The Sharks, despite their best efforts, were denied the chance to play their home semi-final after a tough loss to the Melbourne Storm.

The NRL stood firm on their rules, leaving the Sharks out in the cold.

The Sharks were offered a lifeline to play at CommBank Stadium in Parramatta, but they opted to face their opponents at the Sydney Football Stadium.

With a blockbuster Sydney Swans AFL preliminary final scheduled at the Sydney Cricket Ground, the Sharks are worried about the turnout for their game.

The Cowboys punched their ticket to face Cronulla by defeating the Newcastle Knights in a thrilling elimination final in Townsville.

The stage is set for a showdown of epic proportions as these two teams battle it out for a spot in the grand final.

It will be a game for the ages, with both teams leaving it all on the field in pursuit of victory.
