Jason Demetriou says his work in the NRL feels unfinished and he still has plenty to give the game.
He is currently the head coach of the London Broncos after a stint coaching the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Demetriou's brief is to guide the Broncos back into the Super League under new majority owner and Brisbane Broncos legend Darren Lockyer.
In the first year of a three-year contract he wants to assemble a side that can compete strongly in a market with unrealised potential.
"It's a big challenge and I'm up for it," Demetriou told Courier Mail.
"We're trying to make London great in a city that we (rugby league) haven't quite cracked before.
"I'm really excited by the challenge of making this city a rugby league heartland."
The NRL is planning to add a 19th club for the 2028 season and choosing its head coach will be the competition's most significant appointment.
Alongside his London role he already coaches the Papua New Guinea Kumuls at international level and remains open to other opportunities.
"If there's an opportunity to be involved with PNG, then I'd love that. Yes for sure," he said.
Demetriou would welcome the chance to be considered for the expansion club should he be approached.
