In a thrilling NRL matchup on Friday night, the atmosphere was charged with tension both in play and on the sidelines. Despite the drama, the Match Review Committee (MRC) revealed that no players would face suspensions; instead, fines were issued.

Lindsay Collins and Siua Wong of the Roosters were each penalized with a $1,500 fine for shoulder charges, applicable if they choose to enter early guilty pleas. These infractions occurred during the intense clash between the Sydney Roosters and the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

On the other hand, Rabbitohs' David Fifita was reported for a high tackle on Roosters' Robert Toia. He has the option to accept an early guilty plea, which would result in a $1,000 fine. However, if he chooses to contest the charge and ends up being found guilty, the penalty could escalate to $1,500.

In a different turn of events, Braidon Burns from the North Queensland Cowboys effectively contested his Grade 2 high tackle at the judiciary on Tuesday. The charge was subsequently reduced to Grade 1, resulting in an $1,800 fine but without any suspension.

This ruling means that Burns will not have to serve a two-match ban and is set to play for the Cowboys in their upcoming encounter against the Wests Tigers on Saturday.
